Not a universal solution

Sometimes leftovers taste better on top of a pile of lettuce. The greens have a way of bringing new life to an old grain, or roasted vegetable dish.

Some leftovers just ruin an otherwise perfectly good salad.

I made raw carrot falafel out of carrot pulp leftover from making carrot juice. They looked good and tasted horrible. Consequently, I have a huge bag of them frozen, waiting for inspiration to come along and revive them. Today I tried slamming four of them on top of a pile of mixed greens with tahini dressing. It was completely sick. Out of laziness, I still ate all of it.

Laziness is the trump card in my culinary hand, as it turns out. Bummer. I wish the trump card were a grilled cheese sandwich.

Hahaha. I'm sorry. I was just wondering about tahini dressing the last few days because I was making hummus and saw the recipe on the can. I'm not a huge falafel fan. May the inspiration fairy visit you.

Once the juice is gone you are pretty much eating sawdust falafels, I imagine.

I can't believe you still champed 'em.

Whoo-SAY!!!
I blog stalked you from Gloriana's blog. I was reading your older posts and saw the one about the camp fire and I just couldn't resist commenting on it. I still remember that night. AHHH the good old times! I think I might even have a picture of that very event. Can use say blackmail?

Kasey! I'm so glad you found me!

If you have that picture, please post it on the internet as soon as possible. Few nights remain in my memory so clearly as that one.

It's awesome to hear from you, even just in a blog comment. If you are inclined, shoot me an email at amyfpeterson at gmail dot com. I'd love to hear how you're doing (I would just blog-stalk you back, but your name doesn't link to one...)

Hooray!

I'm kind of a lazy cook and I am always using weird "waste products" from previous meals. So far, everything I have made with carrot pulp leftover from juicing has been bad. I've tried carrot cake (dense as a brick) and carrot pudding (just weird). Thanks for the tip on falafels, I won't try that now. If you find a good way to use the carrot pulp, let me know.
